Student Ministries
Sometimes, the power of youth ministry can be hidden behind loud music, games, and frivolity. What we are really doing here is essential for teens: building healthy and authentic relationships. Our fantastic leadership team truly enjoys spending time with our youth. As we develop these intentional relationships through small groups, lessons, and worship, we are able to navigate some of the challenges in life while maintaining a Christ-focused perspective.
While your teen is at Valley View, we will offer opportunities that will lead him or her toward a deep, personal relationship with Christ; provide a sense of community; and bring hope and love to others while serving missionally. We want students to know that the truth of a life lived in Jesus is not only available to them, but is what Christ himself longs for.
Our activities work toward strengthening our community, whether through a game of kickball, sharing ice cream, working through a Bible study, or a campfire service. We foster an environment where any friend would feel welcomed upon arrival and leave feeling that they had been part of the group for years. One way we seek to accomplish this is through our monthly "First" events, during which we engage in a new series tied to the lyrics of a worship song. We introduce these songs on either the first Sunday (high school) or first Wednesday (middle school), along with an evening full of games and ice cream.
Typically, our middle school group meets on Wednesdays from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Our high school group meets on Sundays from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Beginning June 1 and throughout the summer, though, we're combining our youth groups on Sundays from 6:30-8:30. We hope your teen will join in the fun, and they are more than welcome to bring a friend!
